SLoCaT

The partnership on Sustainable Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) welcomed Sustainable Transport Africa to it's membership in September 2013.

The SLoCaT Partnership on Sustainable Transport (SLoCaT) is a multi-stakeholder partnership of over 80 organizations (representing UN organizations, Multilateral and Bilateral development organizations, NGOs and Foundations, Academe and the Business Sector). SLoCaT promotes the integration on sustainable transport in global policies on sustainable development and climate change.

The objectives of the Transport Day in 2013 held on 17th November 2013 in Warsaw, Poland are:

  1. To demonstrate the contribution that transport can make to mitigation and adaptation, specifically in the context of sustainable development;
  2. To promote the integration of transport in policy making on climate change mitigation and adaptation under the UNFCCC;
  3. To ensure that modalities for financing, capacity building, and technology transfer under the UNFCCC are appropriate for the transport sector.

Sustainable Transport Africa provided some of the imaging for the Transport Day 2013 poster.
