AFRICA TRANSPORT POLICY FORUM
Sustainable Transport Africa participated in the "Africa Transport Policy Form" held in Dakar, Senegal on December 10-11, 2013.
Hosted by "The Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP)" which is an international partnership that comprises 38 African countries, regional economic communities, continental institutions (AUC), UN Agencies (UNECA), public and private sector organizations, and international development agencies and organizations.
The Africa Transport Policy Forum discussed on ways to improve the sustainable, safe and efficient transport for the people of Africa which it was realized was a precondition for sustained economic growth and prosperity.
Planning for affordable, safe and clean transport systems is a smart and cost-effective way to address people's needs and the impact of rapid urbanization across Africa, where it is estimated that 65% of Africans will be living in cities and towns by 2030.
